H. Moser & Cie. Unveils the Off-Grid: A Refined Approach to Digital Timekeeping

Sep 28, 2026, 3:05 PM

H. Moser & Cie. embarks on a distinctive journey into the realm of digital watches with its latest creation, the Off-Grid. This innovative timepiece, marking the brand's second venture into digital horology, stands apart from its predecessors like the Streamliner Alpine Drivers and Mechanics Editions. Instead of overwhelming the wearer with a deluge of notifications and features, the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer has opted for a sophisticated, watchmaking-inspired approach. The Off-Grid beautifully integrates classic analog hour and minute displays with a digital sub-dial at 6 o'clock, providing access to a suite of complications including a perpetual calendar, GMT, chronograph, and moon phase. Its design, characterized by an open-worked dial, signature fumé finishes, and Streamliner-inspired aesthetics, marries traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technology. This horological marvel, developed in collaboration with Swiss movement specialist Sequent, boasts an impressive power reserve of up to 12 months in time-only mode and is fully compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.

The Off-Grid's aesthetic is unmistakably Moser, featuring a 42.6mm case, an integrated rubber strap, and a meticulously crafted open dial that showcases the intricate movement within. The analog display, positioned at 12 o'clock, features a subtly domed fumé dial with ceramic indices and Superluminova-coated hands. Two distinct versions are available: one in Blackor fumé with blue PVD-treated stainless steel, and another in Red fumé with black PVD-treated steel. The digital interface is discreetly located beneath the main dial. The watch is equipped with a comprehensive range of functions, including a GMT feature with a global time zone selector, a highly precise split-seconds chronograph accurate to 1/100th of a second, and a perpetual calendar and moon phase pre-programmed for the next century. Additional functionalities include a vibrating alarm, a timer, and an "OFF-GRID" travel mode, which offers quick country selection and a basic dictionary in 21 languages, making it an ideal companion for global adventurers.

At the heart of the Off-Grid lies the Caliber D10 movement, a product of collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and Sequent. This intricate movement, comprising 186 components, ensures remarkable accuracy of ±0.3 seconds per day. Its power reserve capabilities are equally impressive, offering up to 12 months in time-only mode. Even with combined usage of the time display, a month of alarm function, and an hour of chronograph operation, the watch maintains a substantial six-month power reserve. The robust 42.6mm steel case, with a thickness of 14.4mm, is water-resistant to 120 meters and features a closed case back adorned with the iconic Moser hallmark. These exceptional timepieces are offered in two limited editions, each restricted to 1,000 units. Reference 6DI0-1202 features blue PVD-treated steel with a Blackor fumé dial and a white integrated rubber strap, while Reference 6DI0-1205 combines black PVD-treated steel with a Red fumé dial and a black rubber strap. Each watch is priced at $4,900, positioning them as the most accessible offerings from H. Moser & Cie. to date.

The H. Moser & Cie. Off-Grid represents a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation, demonstrating that digital timekeeping can exist within the framework of traditional haute horlogerie. It is a testament to the brand's forward-thinking vision, reminding us that precision and elegance can coexist with modern technology. This watch encourages us to appreciate the subtle complexities of time and the thoughtful integration of utility, inspiring a pursuit of excellence in both design and function.
