Apr 14, 2026, 8:34 AM

At the prestigious Watches and Wonders event in 2026, Tudor unveiled a captivating new iteration of its acclaimed Black Bay 54 series. This latest model distinguishes itself with a vibrant blue dial and a coordinating bezel, presenting a refreshed and cooler aesthetic compared to its all-black forerunner. While embracing a new color palette, the timepiece retains the robust technical specifications that have defined the collection, ensuring its appeal to both enthusiasts and new collectors.

The Black Bay 54, known for its refined 37mm case, continues to offer a perfect balance of vintage charm and modern engineering. The case, crafted from stainless steel, features a meticulous blend of satin and polished finishes, enhancing its sophisticated profile. Its unidirectional rotating bezel, now in an appealing blue aluminum, echoes the design of the original 1954 Reference 7922 by omitting minute graduations, a subtle nod to its heritage. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a solid case back ensures durability. The iconic Tudor rose emblem adorns the fluted crown, and the watch maintains an impressive water resistance of 200 meters, making it a reliable companion for aquatic adventures.

The new model's dial is subtly domed and rendered in a deep blue hue, providing a stark yet elegant contrast with the white-printed minute track encircling its perimeter. The applied hour markers, alongside the distinctive snowflake hour hand and sword-shaped minute hand, are treated with Super-LumiNova for exceptional legibility in low light conditions. Unlike the previous all-black 79000N reference, this blue variant foregoes gilded accents and a date display, opting for a cleaner, more focused aesthetic that emphasizes its dive watch functionality.

Powering this sophisticated timepiece is the in-house Manufacture Calibre MT5400, a COSC-certified automatic movement. This high-performance engine operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a substantial power reserve of 70 hours, coupled with a practical stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

The watch is available with two bracelet options to suit individual preferences. Buyers can choose a riveted three-link stainless steel bracelet, meticulously finished to complement the case, complete with Tudor’s innovative T-Fit micro-adjustable folding clasp. Alternatively, a black rubber strap is offered, featuring steel end links and the same convenient T-Fit clasp. Pricing for the rubber strap version is CHF 3,650, while the steel bracelet option is CHF 3,850, presenting excellent value for a watch of this caliber and heritage.

The introduction of the all-blue Black Bay 54 represents Tudor's ongoing commitment to evolving its classic designs while honoring its rich history. This new reference successfully blends contemporary color trends with the enduring qualities of a robust dive watch, offering a compelling choice for collectors and enthusiasts seeking both style and functionality.
