Nomos Glashütte has expanded its esteemed Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer collection with the introduction of the new 'Dark' edition. This latest offering builds upon the success of last year's limited 'Nighttime Navigation' series, which featured sunburst black dials with vibrant highlights. The new Worldtimer Dark distinguishes itself with a sleek black enamel dial complemented by luminous off-white elements, including a city ring and a sub-dial for home time, alongside illuminated numerals and indices.
A significant development for enthusiasts is that the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark is now a permanent fixture in Nomos's core collection. This inclusion places it alongside popular blue and silver variants, as well as the recently launched silver-white model from Watches and Wonders. The timepiece retains the familiar 40mm polished stainless steel case, measuring a slim 9.9mm in thickness with a 48mm lug-to-lug distance, characterized by relatively short lugs for enhanced wearability. It is presented on a three-row Oyster-style bracelet featuring a combination of brushed outer links and polished center links, equipped with quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes.
Powering this sophisticated world timer is Nomos's in-house DUW 3202 automatic movement. This caliber operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, boasts 37 jewels, and provides a 42-hour power reserve. Its functionality allows for tracking local time, home time, and the time in 24 global cities displayed around the dial. A simple press of the button at 2 o'clock advances the hour hand in one-hour increments, facilitating seamless adjustments for local time or checking different time zones. Despite its array of features, the movement's svelte 4.8mm profile contributes to the watch's overall slimness, making it one of the more slender multi-time zone watches available. Furthermore, its "Sport" designation is justified by a water resistance rating of 100 meters.
The aesthetic appeal of the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark is highlighted by its black enamel dial with crisp off-white printing. Both the surrounding city ring and the home-time sub-dial are rendered in off-white, with the sub-dial incorporating classic blue-and-red Pan-Am-inspired ribbons to clearly indicate its multi-time function. The time offsets on the dial's periphery are marked in red, adding a dynamic and sporty touch to the design. A key feature is the luminosity of all off-white components, ensuring excellent readability in low-light conditions.
The initial impressions evoke a sense of refined elegance reminiscent of the limited-edition Nomos × Fratello Weltzeit watches, particularly their tuxedo-dial aesthetic. This design choice not only enhances the watch's sophisticated character but also subtly gives the impression of a slightly smaller profile on the wrist. Available with various options for case backs and straps, pricing for the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark begins at €3,920 / US$5,140 / £3,920 for the version with an all-steel case back and textile strap, increasing to €4,400 / US$5,760 / £4,400 for a display case back and bracelet combination.
